THE PROCESS
Paint Correction Training
Anyone can make claims and voice their methods on polishing paint, in the end it's just someone's opinion on the PROCESS. It's up to you to recognize whether this information is of value, valid and truly of the highest quality. As someone who is obsessed with being able to execute the highest quality finish imaginable, I assure you I personally have done my research. I've searched the internet for answers, I've watched and studied the knowledge/opinions from the most reputable “Paint Correctors” in the states and have spent an infinite amount of time/effort trying to put everything I've learned into practice. Every single day searching/learning comparing various processes, late nights practicing on panels, to losing sleep replaying scenarios in my head wondering why I couldn't execute the results I wanted. I have personally poured an immense amount of effort into understanding this craft at the highest level.
Most classes simply go through the motions or “steps” of taking a machine, dumping product and maneuvering it over paint, as long as it yields a “shiny” result it easily impresses trainees who don't know any better. There is a huge difference between what people THINK is high level finish work and what actually is. Which is why I will show you exactly what we are looking for, explain in detail why decisions are made, all while comparing the most common opinions every step of the way. Everyone wants shortcuts and a simple process, which is fine if you're okay with mediocre results. Whether it's an enhancement, one step, two step, or multi step correction, everything must be done with purpose because no system is fool proof. I'm not perfect, not every car I do comes out perfect but I'm capable of putting a very respectable finish on paint. If you're interested in hearing the opinions of someone who is truly obsessed with every aspect of this process, I encourage you to give it a shot.
What this training is NOT ABOUT
We will refrain from diving into the unnecessary science behind paint systems/paint jobs and throwing around fancy correction terms to make it seem more complicated than it needs to be. We are not painters, the only thing we can alter is the appearance of surface level clear coat/single stage, everything else beneath to some extent is irrelevant. While mild sanding on how to address certain scenarios will be discussed, texture removal and full block sanding will not be a part of this training, WHY? Because unless you are actively involved in this process and being paid to hand sand an entire vehicle in several steps, it's extremely unnecessary for 90% of detailers. Mild sanding and heavy machine correction will allow you to transform a previously sanded custom vehicle or any modern vehicle to a very high level. Because in the end, it's not how you start, it's how you FINISH down a vehicle. Also, this is not a training that's going to push you towards a specific brand, while yes there is quality out there and we need products/tools to execute, this training is about understanding the PROCESS, not just throwing a tool in your hand when you walk in and calling it “hands on”. I encourage you to bring your arsenal of products/tools so I can help you better understand them, therefore allow you to achieve better results without endless product testing.
Who is this training for?
This is a very detailed training for those who are already heavily invested and passionate about providing the highest quality work. Someone who is actively polishing cars struggling to achieve results, wanting to be more efficient or wanting to better understand what's going on. Definitely not for anyone just getting started in the world of detailing. Unlike the majority of training that will welcome anyone who’s willing to invest, I will not let someone brand new to polishing jump in and waste their money just to leave confused. You must have some understanding, your own tools/products and have actually performed polishing services on actual vehicles.
